Dear User of Derivatives Expert IV
This is the
fourth official release of Derivatives Expert.
If Derivatives
Expert is installed correctly it will operate just like any other
standard Mathematica package or notebook on any given platform.
Each
license of Derivatives Expert IV is delivered as "Digital
Delivery" i.e. by download through the internet or by delivery
through email.
Below follows further information on how to
install Derivatives Expert correctly.
(This may not apply
to you: Some licenses of Derivatives Expert IV may require that a
so-called $MachineID
is sent to your distributor or Innova Financial Solutions
beforehand.)
To
install Derivatives Expert IV on Mathematica 7 and 6 see
below.
To
install Derivatives Expert III on Mathematica 5, 5.1 and 5.2:
See here.
To
install Derivatives Expert III on Mathematica 4.x: See
here.
With
your unpacking software e.g. WinZip
unpack the licensed file DerivativesExpertIV.zip (or
.tgz) and place the complete DerivativesExpert
folder (as it is) in your preferred Mathematica Applications
folder e.g.:
$BaseDirectory\Applications\
or
$UserBaseDirectory\Applications\
You
should now have the following paths (your full path names may be
different) that contain
files:
$BaseDirectory\Applications\DerivativesExpert\
(contains 24
files)
$BaseDirectory\Applications\DerivativesExpert\Data\
(contains 2
files)
$BaseDirectory\Applications\DerivativesExpert\Documentation\English\
(contains 45
files)
$BaseDirectory\Applications\DerivativesExpert\Java\com\innova\derivativesexpert\database\
(contains 2
files)
$BaseDirectory\Applications\DerivativesExpert\Kernel\
(contains 1 file)
Now start/restart Mathematica, go to the Help menu
and choose Documentation Center. In the Documentation
Center find the link called Installed Add-Ons, and
click on it. This will show a new window where Derivatives
Expert should be shown. Click on the Derivatives Expert link
and a help browser opens.
Maximize the help browser, and if you choose Add-ons
in the help menu you should now see Derivatives Expert
as an item in the Add-ons menu.
The Derivatives Expert item has all the 23
notebooks as sub-items and they are numbered.
If
you have placed Derivatives Expert correctly in the Applications
directory, as described above, you can run the examples in the opened
notebooks. To show/list a notebook in the Help browser, double-click
on "The whole notebook" in the introduction of any
one of the notebooks numbered 1 to 19.
The notebooks that are
not numbered 1 to 19 are informational notebooks.
Now please
open (e.g. from the File->Open... menu in Mathematica) and read
Introduction.nb. Also remember that the
standard Mathematica documentation contains a lot of information
about running and opening Mathematica compatible packages and
notebooks.
Refer to the Windows installation guide above.
Refer to the Windows installation guide above.
As of Mathematica version 5.1 there is a database application with
Mathematica which may be best to use. If you wish to use the Database
module of Derivatives Expert IV please place one or more relevant
JDBC drivers so that J/Link can see them. Please refer to the
standard J/Link documentation or email
us. Make sure to delete the JDBC drivers that follow with
Mathematica if the one you are using is newer but first refer to the
standard Mathematica documentation (for more on JDBC drivers and
related). Relevant place (for the DatabaseTools package of
Derivatives Expert) to place the JDBC drivers are e.g.:
$BaseDirectory\Applications\DerivativesExpert\Java\
