Tips & Notes
-
If you need exact results then you may want to use the MathExact function
instead of the Math function. MathExact preserves integer and fractional
answers, whereas Math returns floating point numbers whenever possible.
-
Work downwards in the worksheet, rather that sideways.
-
To avoid notational problems choose the same standard in both Mathematica
and in Excel, e.g. American notation in both systems. This is controlled from the Microsoft Windows Control Panel.
-
Click on the "Mathematica Add-On Libraries" icon and the Derivatives
Expert Library shows up with the packages being listed on the right hand
side of the window. The "Summary" states: "No Summary Available", even
though there is a Summary in each package. The reason for this is probably
that the packages are encoded. This may be corrected with a future version.
-
The information is missing in the Excel Wizard for some of the options
for specific objects and functions of Derivatives Expert, as these options
are inherited from other objects or functions within Derivatives Expert.
This does not necessarily mean that there are no options available for the object or function. Please
always check with the Derivatives Expert notebook documentation.
-
In step 2 of the "Mathematica Function Wizard" the "Select Prototype" shows
all function information of the form "Head[ arg1, arg2,...]". Not all function
information in Derivatives Expert has this form. Therefore please check
the Derivatives Expert notebook documentation to see the available function
prototypes.
